Orcas children and chaperones will enjoy a day-long experience on Canoe Island, located between Shaw and Lopez islands, where Canoe Island French Camp has been conducting French language and culture summer camps for 35 years.
We will kayak, sail if there is wind, swim in the pool, try archery, and hike around part of this 47-acre, ecologically diverse island investigating tide pools, the geology, an ancient Indian shell midden, and the birds and wildlife.
The Canoe Island French Camp boat carries 15 (13 kids and 2 staff) with life jackets for all. It is just 4 miles and about 20 minutes from the Orcas ferry landing to the dock on Canoe Island.
