Join the Orcas Island Recreation Program for a bike ride and a day at the beach. Meet and pick up at the covered shelter at the Orcas ferry terminal. Call to confirm ferry times.
Good beginner ride for all ages, moderately flat 5.3 miles roundtrip with one hill. It’s a day on the beach otherwise. Our main destination is South Beach County Park, one of the largest sand beaches in the San Juans. Before going back we'll visit the General Store. Parents & other riders welcome. Off-island guests are welcome! We'll meet at the ferry terminal. Riders must wear a helmet. All riders must have a signed permission form.
Bring: Sack lunch, full water bottle, store money (optional), a towel, bathing suit, sunscreen, light windbreaker. Please be sure your child eats an adequate breakfast and is prepared for any weather.
